Raw foods can provide a significant nutritional boost. Over the years, food and nutrition experts have proven that there are actually some nutrients and antioxidants that may be lost when food is heated or cooked.
And according to Healthline, nuts, seeds, and even some vegetables are more nutritious when eaten raw. For optimal health, I recommend that you consume the following foods in their raw form rather than cooking them. See them below;
1.Tomato.
Cooking tomatoes to make stew is a favorite pastime for many people. Some of the tomato’s vital components are destroyed when heated. Your body will absorb more antioxidants and nutrients if you eat your tomatoes uncooked. Before eating fresh tomatoes, make sure to wash them well.
2.Garlic.
Garlic is a common ingredient in some dishes, and it’s often cooked at a high temperature. Eating raw garlic provides more health benefits than eating garlic cooked. Blood pressure can be better controlled by eating raw garlic, which has a lot of antioxidants.
3. Nuts.
Roasting or heating nuts is a popular way to enhance their flavor and make them more enjoyable. Nuts lose some of their nutritious value when heated. It is better to eat raw nuts because they are more nutritious and helpful to your body.
4.Broccoli.
This cruciferous vegetable is chock-full of antioxidants and other nutrients. Consuming broccoli raw provides your body with a greater supply of nutrients, which aids in your overall health. Before eating, make sure the broccoli has been well washed in salt water.
5.Onions.
Antioxidants (allicin) found in raw onions are more concentrated than those found in cooked onions. As a result of eating raw onions, you will lower your blood pressure and reduce the risk of developing heart disease. Sadly, most people are not fans of eating raw onions.
