Veteran Nigerian actress Ini Edo recently opened up about her regrets regarding her previous marriage. In a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the accomplished actress and film producer shared her thoughts on her past decision to tie the knot.
Ini Edo married Philip Ehiagwina, an American-based businessman, on November 29, 2008. However, their union only lasted five years, leading to their eventual divorce in 2013.
When asked about her regrets, Ini Edo openly admitted that getting married at that time was a mistake. She expressed remorse, stating, “I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn’t the right move to make.”
Despite her regrets, Ini Edo also revealed that she remains open to the possibility of marriage again, but only if the right person comes along.
In addition to discussing her marriage, Ini Edo shared her reasons for opting for surrogacy to fulfill her desire for motherhood. She explained that she had experienced multiple miscarriages and had become exhausted from trying to conceive. Without a husband, she decided to have a child for herself through surrogacy. She chose surrogacy because she wanted the child to be biologically hers and discovered that her eggs were viable, enabling her to proceed with the decision.
